You may have read our recent post To Map or not to Map Coronavirus (Covid-19)? discussing the challenges of mapping the virus. We debated the risks of capturing and sharing map visualisations of the virus. Anyhow, whilst I continued to explore this topic I stumbled across r/CovidMapping a community creating a crowdsourced map of the spread of the disease COVID-19. Check it out here: r/CovidMapping map
Encouraged by the efforts of those at r/CovidMapping I had a go at mapping the same data, see below. The data reports local news and any new or suspected cases with a much higher geographical resolution than seen before. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers and over 4k members at r/CovidMapping
